The scolding look he's being given makes him shrug, though his grin only broadens at Billy's return of the untroubled gesture. He's happy to see his companion smile through the torture they regularly receive and once again, he prays that Throk won't come back anytime soon.
"A little stiff," Kurt acknowledges, "but that should go away after a few days. I'm surprised it didn't re-break with all the extra abuse."
He rolls up onto his elbows then straightens completely, twitching the end of his tail back and forth with excitement. "Anything you want, hm? I suppose that is a power a captor wouldn't want someone to be able to use. If there was a way to keep them from dosing you, we'd be able to get out of here pretty easily."
"In a heart beat," Billy agrees, "We could be in Midtown Comics like that," he snaps his fingers with a small smile. "Well...maybe. It's probably bigger than anything I've ever done, but we could not be here. I know that much." Maybe they could go join the Blade of Mamora, take down the Empire before going home, so they knew Earth would be safe from at least that one threat.
"They wanted me to fix their Emperor. Something happened to him, I don't really know, but they tried to make me bring him back. When I couldn't that's when they gave me to Throk."
"I didn't get a chance to see the comic store back home," he sighs, sounding almost wistful at the idea of going. "If we couldn't go that far, at least we'd be free of ... this." Kurt motions around the room then huffs, shoulders shrugging in defeat, despite the indignation in his voice.
"Somehow, I'm not surprised. I've heard Throk talk about the Emperor before, but ... I'm not sure what they plan on doing to bring him back. They might have to accept that he won't be what he was before." Something that's worrisome to think about, since they're technically living beneath one of his 'minions' and all.
"Speaking of comics, though, have you looked through any of those ridiculous ones that Throk's given us to read?"
"If Throk has his way he'll end up in charge of the Empire." The idea of it was terrifying. Not that Billy knew much about the Emperor, but he knew Throk, and a violent toddler at the helm of a powerful Empire spelt disaster for all of them.
He nodded, twisting a face, "They're...uh....interesting, that's for sure," he said with a small laugh. He almost immediately ducked his head even though Throk wasn't there, afraid of his response.
"If that happens, we're all done for." Except, Kurt thinks that's kind of a joke, which he emphasizes by tilting his head, sticking his tongue out and mimes hanging himself with a noose. If the Galra have any sense, they'll know not to put Throk in charge.
He snorts in response, lowering the hand he'd just been using to cup around his face and hide his smile. "'Interesting' is one way to put it, sure." The way Billy ducks causes concern, like he's afraid Throk will hear them and come running. Not entirely impossible, but— "Don't worry, Billy. I doubt he can hear us, but if he can, I hope he's seething at the fact we're enjoying ourselves."
